I took it out again on Sunday (could do a Panda wiper motor swap in my sleep now ) doused everything in electrical contact cleaner, and used a little screwdriver and some cardboard on the two contacts not on the wheel to clean it out. Put it back together, works perfectly.
The windshield wipers do not work in my Panda, they do not react at all to changes in the position of the wiper gear switch on the steering wheel. I bought the entire steering console on the scrap car, but after replacing it, they still do not work so the problem lies elsewhere.
A linkage connects each wiper arm to your Panda's wiper motor. If the stem isn't moving, you'll need to determine where the linkage has broken. Once you get to the wiper transmission, put the wiper arm back on and move it up and down, and you'll see exactly where the linkage failed.
Answered in 1 minute by: Auto Mechanic: Tom. Most common is a faulty wiper switch. To rule the wiper motor out with the switch on see if there is power to the wiper motor if there is the wiper motor is bad if not the switch is shorted out . Also check the fuse .
When using the flick wipe or intermittent wiper options, after a while, the wipers will stop working. They always stop in the 'parked' position and will start again when a wiper arm is slightly moved by hand. This fault hasn't appeared when the wipers are on a continuous speed.
